Cycling
This became my passion more recently and more particularly after I bought
a good quality racing bike in August 2005 (Specialized Allez '05, not the best
but good enough and tough). There are some fine rides in and
around Edinburgh. I have a favourite short ride (45 miles) out past
Livingston along the A71, turning left at West Calder
towards the Crosswood Resevoir, and then back into
Edinburgh via the A70. Also I enjoy a tougher ride around the
Pentlands (76 miles, 4.5 hours, only from April to September),
out towards Livingston on the A71, past West Calder, Forth and
into Lanark, across the A73/2 to Biggar (crossing the Clyde twice),
but then looping back to Edinburgh via the A702.
