1D Potts, Yang-Lee Edges and Chaos

Abstract

The renormalization group equation for a 1D Potts model in field can be cast in the form of a logistic map f(x) = 4 x ( 1 -x) with x a function of the Potts couplings K and h. Remarkably, the "boundary of chaos" for x, i.e. x=0, is precisely the line defining the Yang-Lee edge singularity in the K, h plane in the Potts model.
