All registration fees include Congress literature, a copy of the Congress proceedings (except for students), access to the Welcome and Congress receptions, exhibition and all teas/coffees. Please note lunch is not included.

*To obtain a reduced registration fee, students (who should normally
be under 28 years of age) should submit an official university certificate
confirming their status from their supervisor/departmental head together
with the registration form.
**Includes free access to Welcome and Congress Receptions. Also includes
access to the accompanying guests excursions (at additional cost).
No registration will be confirmed until payment is received. All payments must be in Pounds Sterling using one of the following methods:

Cancellations received on or before 5 June 1999 will be refunded minus an administration charge of £50 per person. This applies to registration fees only.
There will be many mathematicians from developing countries who are unable to obtain financial support to attend the Congress. In order to help some of them the Organising Committee has established a Fund. The Fund will be used to contribute towards local costs in Edinburgh (registration fee and subsistence expenses). Travel costs will not usually be covered. The Funds are likely to be very limited and participants should continue to seek alternative sources of funding.
The deadline for applications is 15th December 1998. All applications will be reviewed and all applicants will be informed of the result by 30th April 1999.
Candidates for financial support should send a brief curriculum vitae (including date of birth and a list of publications), and also identify how they will benefit from the interaction with mathematicians from other countries attending the Congress. Applications should be sent to
