Final Programme and Timetable -------------------------------- The Programme of ICIAM 99 has now been finalised. Below we describe some of options for accessing it before, during, and after the Congress. 1.1. Printed Final Programme and Book of Abstracts -------------------------------------------------- Each eligible participant will be given a copy of the Final Programme and the Book of Abstracts during on-site registration. We have made the corresponding files available for downloading in Postscript and PDF formats. Since the files are fairly large, we have split the books into several files available for downloading separately. Please follow the links from ICIAM 99 web page or go directly to http://www.ma.hw.ac.uk/iciam99/printedprogramme.html The Final Programme and Book of Abstracts are correct at the time of going to press (28 May 1999). For the up-to-date versions please see the Electronic Programme pages (more details below). If you want to find when and where you are talking, check the electronic List of Speakers and Organisers. The List of changes between the printed and up-to-date electronic versions will be available on-line later and will be also distributed at registration. 1.2. Electronic Programme ------------------------- The electronic version of the Programme is available from the main Congress web site or directly at http://www.ma.hw.ac.uk/iciam99/electronicprogramme.html It provides links to dynamically modified pages of individual sessions and individual talks (with abstracts in TeX format, where available), as well as additional scientific events, cultural programme, etc. It is updated daily. This version supersedes the Printed Programme. 1.3. How to find out your personal activities --------------------------------------------- To find out when and where you are speaking, check our Electronic List of Speakers and Organisers, following the link from the main web page or directly at http://www.ma.hw.ac.uk/iciam99/electroniclist.html The names are arranged in alphabetical order; click on the first letter of your surname to see the corresponding list. Because of the complexity of the finalised Programme, we can consider requests for re-scheduling talks only in very exceptional circumstances. Even then, however, it may not be possible to accommodate such requests. 1.4. What to do if your talk(s) has not been scheduled ------------------------------------------------------ If you cannot find your name on the List of Speakers, please (a) Check the spelling - either you or we could have made a mistake (b) Check the names of your co-authors - we show only the names of presenting speakers; co-authors' names are included in the abstracts (c) Have you just submitted the talk or any changes? In this case, please be patient and check again a few days later If all this fails, then send us an e-mail (edin99@ma.hw.ac.uk) stating your name, e-mail address, the talk you were supposed to give and type of contribution (Mini-Symposium, Contributed Lecture, Poster) and how it was submitted, and, most importantly, the answer to the following question: Have you registered for the Congress and/or responded to one of our previous mailshots asking if you are coming to Edinburgh? (If not, we might not know you still intend to participate.) 1.5. Chairs of Contributed Sessions ----------------------------------- If you are giving a contributed lecture, then, after finding out which session you are speaking in, please check the page for this particular session. We put the names of some of you forward as session chairpersons. Due to the size of the problem we have not been able to write to each chairperson individually. If you are shown as a Chair for the session, we hope that you would agree to act as one; if so, you do not have to do anything now. If you do not want to chair the session, please let us know by e-mailing edin99@ma.hw.ac.uk. If two chairspersons are shown for a session, then, in general, the first Chair is responsible for the first four talks and the second Chair for the remaining four talks. If you are chairing a session please start and finish each talk on time. Also, if a lecture is cancelled, subsequent talks should not be be moved up as this will disrupt the schedule. 1.6. Information for speakers and Mini-symposia organisers ---------------------------------------------------------- All lecture rooms have an overhead projector and 35mm slide projector and screen, as well as a blackboard or a whiteboard. Rehearsal facilities are available in the Speakers Preview Room and additional slide trays may be obtained from this room. Posters will be displayed in the David Hume Tower Lower Foyer. All posters must be set-up between 08:30 and 10:30 on the day of presentation and removed by 18:00. Please note all boards are 2m wide x 1m high. Posters can be attached using Velcro which will be available in the poster area during the set-up times shown above. Help will be on hand during the set-up times to assist you in locating your poster board. Presenters should spend a reasonable proportion of the time between 10:30 and 14:00 with their posters. 1.7. Additional Scientific Events --------------------------------- During the Congress, the following additional events will take place. Details can be found in the Electronic and Printed Programmes. Financial Mathematics Day (Tuesday) Mathemastics and the Law Symposium (at the Royal Society of Edinburgh, Wednesday) One Day Parrallel Computing Meeting (Thursday) Maxwellian Themes Meeting (at the Royal Society of Edinburgh, Friday and Saturday) Follow the links from http://www.ma.hw.ac.uk/iciam99/timetable.html for mor details 1.8.
